Analogue Telephony Switch Off
Openreach are aiming to switch off all analogue connections by December 2025, this will affect analogue telephone lines.
What does this mean for Care Call?
- Equipment connected via a telephone line will no longer work by December 2025, as this is when analogue lines switch off;
- Existing service users will be migrated to a digital solution, which will be completed via an arranged visit from our team free-of-charge;
- Your equipment may look different but will perform the same functions; and
- Equipment connecting to our Alarm Receiving Center (ARC) will be via a digital connection.
What do I need to do?
For existing service users, if your telephone line is due to migrate to digital, please inform our team on 01387 269930. Following this, we will arrange a visit to ensure that you have digital equipment installed. For new service users, digital equipment will be provided as standard.
What should I be aware of?
We will never ask for additional payment for the digital switch over. Any calls, texts and/or emails asking for financial information regarding this may be fraudulent. If concerned, please report this to Dumfries and Galloway Council on 030 33 33 3001.
