Gulls in Dumfries and Galloway
Dumfries and Galloway is a beautiful place but the long coastline and bustling urban settlements make it an attractive place for gulls, and these can sometimes cause problems for residents, businesses, and tourists.
Advice and support
The Council does not have a statutory duty to take any action against any type of gull, and they are actually protected by law, but we have appointed an Environmental Safety Officer to manage our gull colonies and to help to keep people safe.
