Annandale East and Eskdale Ward Forum Eaglesfield Village Hall
Tuesday, 30 April 2013 15:52
The next Annandale East and Eskdale Elected Member Ward Forum will take place at 7pm on Thursday 23 May 2013 at Eaglesfield Village Hall.

The purpose of a Ward Forum is to enable all residents or representatives of community groups to exchange views and information with their Elected Members in an informal manner and to allow Elected Members to respond to questions on local issues.

All residents or representatives of groups from Annandale East and Eskdale, which includes Gretna, Canonbie and Langholm and surrounding areas are invited to attend to raise issues with their four ward members: Councillors Karen Carruthers, Archie Dryburgh, Denis Male and Craig Peacock.

Councillor Denis Male said, "The ward forum gives local people and organisation the unique opportunity of sitting down with their elected representatives to raise issues about anything that concerns them from a council point of view. I regard this interaction with constituents as a very important part of my council work."

Councillor Archie Dryburgh said, "Ward Forums are another opportunity for constituents to interact, ask questions and challenge elected members, on all issues affecting them whether that be roads, education, social work, and all other issues that we, as members, can try and influence."

Issues covered at meetings in the past include flooding, care for the elderly and road issues.
