Recent releases
We are delighted to announce that the DG Youth Awards are back for 2024. This year the annual awards evening will once again take place at Easterbrook Hall, Dumfries on Thursday 28 November and will focus on celebrating the amazing achievements and talents of young people aged 11 to 25 across Dumfries and Galloway.
Ailsa McDairmant, Chairperson of Dumfries and Galloway Youth Council said: “It is great to see that Dumfries and Galloway Youth Awards are back once again for 2024. The awards are a significant event for young people across the region, and it has built up a strong reputation for celebrating the personalities, talents and achievements of our young people. I am really looking forward to hearing about the inspiring stories of young people from across Dumfries and Galloway this year.”
Nominations are now open and if you know a young person, youth worker or organisation in Dumfries and Galloway who you think is deserving of recognition, you can submit a nomination from now until the closing date of Monday 21 October by visiting www.dgyouthawards.co.uk.
The categories for this year’s main awards are:

- Culture, Arts and Entertainment Award
- Equality Award
- Young Volunteer Award
- Group of the Year Award
- Unsung Hero Award
- Young Enterprise and Business Award
- Rising Star Award
- Young Person of the Year (Overall Winner)
- Youth Worker of the Year (paid) Award
- Youth Worker of the Year (voluntary) Award
- Lifetime Achievement Award

The DG Youth Awards is fully funded by Young Gamechangers Fund and the National Lottery.
