Trading Standards issue fireworks warning

Dumfries and Galloway Council’s Trading Standards service is warning consumers to check fireworks before they purchase them in case they are damaged.
Councillor Colin Smyth, Chair of Planning Housing and Environment Committee, said, "A small number of damaged fireworks have been found on sale during checks carried out by trading standards officers. These have been removed from sale on every occasion by the retailer, but consumers are being advised to check packs before they buy them. The damaged packs are identified easily just by looking at them because some of the fireworks will be split open."
