Big Lunch at the Merrick Centre launches pre-2014 Games activities

The Merrick Centre, Newton Stewart will host a family friendly fun day, The Big Lunch, on Thursday 8 August, 12 noon to 3pm.
This will be the launch event for a host of activities at the centre in the run up to the 2014 Glasgow Commonwealth Games. Families are welcome to bring along a picnic on the day, using the grassed area if the weather is good or indoor at The Merrick if it is not so kind.
Activities on the day will include:
Inflatables
Design a T-Shirt
Dancing
Music
Various sports activities – football, junior keep fit/bootcamp, athletics
The day is a joint venture between our Council ( Active Schools, Leisure and Sport, Community Learning and Development) and YMCA. The activities on the day are all free of charge. If you have forgotten your picnic, you can purchase one for £2.
