Dalbeattie Library, Customer Service Centre and Registration Service
Thursday, 01 August 2013 09:11
Dumfries and Galloway Council is integrating Libraries, Customer Service Centres and Registration Services across the region.
In Dalbeattie the Library, Customer Service Centre and Registration Service is scheduled to integrate into the current library building on the High Street by the end of 2013. There is a proposal for this integrated facility to be relocated sometime during 2016 into an area of Dalbeattie Learning Campus (at the current Dalbeattie High School site) that the public can access.
This proposal fits well with our Council’s policy to have fewer but better community assets, whilst also maximising community use of our schools estate and embracing the community schools ethos. If this proposal is agreed our Council will be designing the space in Dalbeattie Learning Campus, which at 170 square metres is slightly smaller than the existing occupied space. However, this gives us the opportunity to ensure the quality of the new facility is of a high standard.
A decision as to whether the Library, Customer Service Centre and Registration Services are included within the Dalbeattie Learning Campus design will be made by the end of September 2013.
The public can have their say on this proposal by completing a short survey online at http://www.dumgal.gov.uk/dalbeattie or by completing a paper copy of the survey available in the Dalbeattie Library or Dalbeattie Customer Service Centre.
The survey closes on 16th August 2013.
