Volunteer Strategy 2024-2029
Dumfries and Galloway Council aims to provide our volunteers with an exceptional experience by establishing an efficient approach to recruitment, training, engagement, and coordination of our volunteers.
Our Volunteer Strategy for 2024-2029 outlines Dumfries and Galloway Council's commitment to volunteering; and the Outcomes that we want to achieve to ensure that we are continuously improving our volunteering experience:
- Outcome 1: To endeavour to remove barriers that inhibit people from volunteering.
- Outcome 2: To maintain continuous improvement of the management and development of our volunteering programme.
- Outcome 3: To recognise, reward and celebrate our volunteers.
- Outcome 4: To maintain Investing in Volunteers accreditation, the UK quality standard for good practice in volunteer management.
These refreshed Outcomes will ensure that our volunteer base and arrangements continue to meet the needs of local people, support the delivery of Council services, and are complementary, not in competition with, other local organisations. They also ensure our arrangements are inclusive and empower individual from a variety of backgrounds to volunteer
