SWestrans Regional Transport Strategy 2023-2042
The Regional Transport Strategy (RTS) sets out a vision for 'a transport system for the South West of Scotland that delivers the internal and external connectivity required to sustain and enhance the region's economy and communities whilst minimising the impact of transport on the environment'.
The key purpose of the RTS is to identify the transport challenges in Dumfries and Galloway and to set out a long-term approach to address them up to 2042.
The Strategy sets the policy and framework for transport delivery in Dumfries and Galloway for the next 20 years following the publication of the National Transport Strategy 2 in 2021.
