Langholm Flood Protection Scheme

A report on the proposed Langholm Flood Protection Scheme was presented to the Communities Council on 3 October 2023 where Members agreed that the current proposed Scheme (a combination of walls and embankments) is no longer progressed.

An alternative approach was agreed with the Council to undertake further work with RPS (Project Consultants) to develop a Property Flood Resilience Scheme. Initial work will assess if such a scheme is beneficial/viable with a future report to Committee to consider the outcome of this preliminary work.
