Information for Potential Hosts
If you have signed up to host a Ukrainian family through the Homes for Ukraine scheme, you can use this page to find useful resources.
If you are interested in signing up to the scheme, read through Reset's guidance pages. This includes a 'Matching Form' for residents who do not know a Ukrainian family who they wish to sponsor. You can also visit the Homes for Ukraine official website to register your interest.
Preparation
The welfare of vulnerable people is obviously of paramount importance. Extensive work is ongoing to ensure that Dumfries and Galloway supports Ukrainian refugees.
The Enhanced Disclosure Scotland checks of property are carried out in line with Scottish Government guidance, which includes the regulations put in place for the safe, fast and free vetting system introduced to support those who want to open their homes to displaced Ukrainians.
The national Homes for Ukraine scheme enables individuals, charities, community groups and businesses to record their interest in supporting Ukrainian residents fleeing the conflict.
The scheme allows sponsors in the UK to nominate a named Ukrainian or a named Ukrainian family to stay with them in their home or in a separate property.
