Dumfries and Galloway Coastal Benefit Fund

THE FUND IS CURRENTLY CLOSED TO APPLICATIONS

Dumfries and Galloway Coastal Benefit Fund has been established to invest funds provided on an annual basis by Scottish Ministers.  The funding is awarded to our Council from the net revenue generated from Scottish Crown Estate marine assets (out to 12 nautical miles) and is being made available to benefit our coastal communities.

Timescale

The fund normally opens to applications in February each year and decisions are taken by Committee in April with projects requiring to be fully delivered by the 31 March the following year.

The Coastal Benefit Fund is now closed.  Applications for 2024/25 Round 5 were assessed by a multi-agency scoring panel and recommendations were presented in a report to Communities Committee on 2 April 2024.  You can view the report and decisions at Item 5 HERE

It is not anticipated that there will be any further rounds of this Fund in 2024/25.

Supported Projects

Since the Coastal Benefit Fund was devolved in 2019 to Local Authorities, we have invested £2,664,475.85 (100% of our allocation) in coastal communities across Dumfries and Galloway .
