The King's Honours

The honours system recognises individuals for extraordinary achievements and commitment to public life. You can nominate someone for an honour.

Honours are awarded to individuals who are:

  • making a difference to their community or field of work
  • providing long-term voluntary service
  • providing innovation and entrepreneurship
  • improving life for people less able to help themselves
  • displaying moral courage

There is a limit on the number of honours that are awarded each year so only those people who've given exceptional service are likely to succeed.
