The Chapelross, Creca site is less than 30 minutes from Annan, Carlisle, and Dumfries, where the aim is to create a large-scale mixed-use employment site with broad social and economic benefits.

Dumfries and Galloway Council has issued planning guidance for the site within the Local Development Plan 2 (LDP2) Chapelcross Development Framework.

Chapelcross is one of Scotland's strategic investment sites for clean growth, net-zero carbon, energy, and innovation. The site supports the development of green energy production, storage, and distribution solutions.

The aspirational land use at Chapelcross is centred on clean energy generation, storage, distribution, and research, with a particular focus on green hydrogen production. To achieve the UK's 2050 net zero carbon target, renewable hydrogen will be an important contributor. There is potential for the Chapelcross site to be a Regional Hydrogen Energy Hub for the South of Scotland.

The programme is linked to the Borderlands Inclusive Growth Deal. https://www.borderlandsgrowth.com/projects

This seldom-available opportunity offers the prospect of establishing a strategic site.
