Bonfires and smoke

Outdoor burning can be dangerous and the smoke may even be an offence under the Clean Air Act.

Report a bonfire

Call 999 if you see a fire that is unattended or looks dangerous.

Let us know if smoke from a bonfire or other outdoor burning is bothering you:

  • Call 030 33 33 3000

You will need to provide:

  • your name, address and a contact telephone number
  • the address you're complaining about and the type of nuisance
  • when (and for how long) the problem normally occurs
  • the way the nuisance affects you

You'll hear from us within 14 days. We may need visit the premises with the bonfire or send a letter.
