Home delivery service for library books

We can deliver books to your home if you have problems getting into a library.

You can borrow books using our free Community Outreach Service if you have limited mobility or poor health which makes it difficult to visit a library.

How the service works

Register and tell us:

  • which types of books you like (such as thrillers or romance)
  • if you've got any special requirements (such as large print or talking books)

We'll deliver a selection of books every three weeks and collect anything you've already borrowed. You can request specific books free of charge too.

The day we visit depends on where you live but we'll arrange the time of visits in advance. We'll also ask you to pick a password that we have to use for security when we visit so you'll know we're from the library.

Register for home delivery

You need to provide:

  • contact details
  • a password for security when our staff visit
  • information about the kind of books you like to read

Return your form to any of our local libraries or call 030 33 33 3000 to arrange for us to visit you.
