Correction to budget savings job reduction figures - Planning and Environment

The item on the front page of the Dumfries and Galloway Standard regarding supposed job losses is incorrect. Corrections for Planning and Environment Services:
This iwill be a total of £3000
Planning and Environment Services
It refers to 'a large number of management posts will be lost throughout the council including 20 in planning and environment'.
This is inaccurate - in the current budget round (2012/13) only 8 establishment posts are lost in PES through vacancy management.
Any further reduction in posts in 2013/14 and 2014/15 would require to be agreed by the Council in setting its budget for those financial years.
