Notice of Poll for European Parliamentary Election

The next European Parliament Election takes place on Thursday 23 May 2019.

The Statement of Parties and Individual Candidates nominated and Notice of Poll for the European Parliamentary Election has been published along with the Notice of Election Agents for the Electoral Region of Scotland and the Situation of Polling Places.

How to Vote

Poll Cards have now been issued and should be delivered by Monday 29 April 2019. However, if you have recently moved into the area or moved house you will need to update your registration details.

You can register to vote online at www.gov.uk/registertovote

Please note that the deadline for applications to register is midnight on Tuesday 7 May 2019.

You can also vote by post or vote by proxy for this forthcoming European Parliamentary Election, the deadlines for these are:

  • Vote by Post deadline is 5pm Wednesday 8 May
  • Vote by Proxy deadline is 5pm Wednesday 15 May

Emergency Proxy

If, after 5pm on Wednesday 15 May 2019, you have a medical emergency or cannot go to the polling station because of work reasons.   You can apply to vote by proxy. This means someone else can vote on your behalf.  The deadline for completed applications is 5pm on Thursday 23 May 2019.   To find out how to apply, please phone the Electoral Registration Officer straight away on 01387 260627.

Results

Results will be published following the election.
