Harbour Safety Bulletins:
Harbour Safety Bulletins are issued following investigations into incidents and near misses. The purpose is to identify where harbour users can improve safety by applying best practice.

We are committed to complying with the Port Marine Safety Code and operating in a safe and environmentally friendly manner. Our Harbours Safety Management System and formal risk assessment process demonstrate this commitment.
The Dumfries and Galloway Council Marine Safety Management System - Purpose and Policy is provided in draft format. It is subject to approval at Harbours Sub-Committee on 2 September 2021.
An incident is defined as any event that causes harm, damage or environmental contamination, to a person, vessel or object within in the waters of a DGC Statutory Harbour Area or its approaches.
Near misses are events that had the potential to cause an incident. Near Misses should also be reported.
