Help with garden maintenance
You may be able to get help through our Home Garden Maintenance Scheme if you are finding it difficult to look after your garden. There is a yearly charge for this service.
The garden maintenance service is now available and applications are being accepted.
Applications for the scheme are welcomed until the end of May 2019.
To get help with your garden you must be receiving one of these benefits:
- Basic State Pension
- Disability Living Allowance
- Attendance allowance
- Severe disablement Allowance
You must not be able to do the work yourself or have another adult living with you who could do the work.
You can get the service without paying VAT if you have health problems.
The size of grass area which we will maintain as part of the standard service has reduced to 250 square metres. Any grassed area above this size can be maintained by the Council at an additional charge of £0.50 per square metre.
If you do not wish to pay the additional charge then the Council will maintain the 250 square metres closest to your house, and the remainder will be left uncut.
