It has been announced by Buckingham Palace that Her Majesty The Queen died peacefully at Balmoral this afternoon.

An announcement of a consultation to close operations at their Newton Stewart site has been made by the owners of Rowan Glen, Dale Farm Ltd. We understand this follows a review of its business and has resulted in proposals, emerging today, which would see the possible closure of their plants at Newton Stewart and Kendal.
BIN STRIKE ACTION SUSPENDED: The proposed bin strike that was due to start on Tuesday 6 September through to Wednesday 14 September has been suspended by Unite. For residents of Dumfries and Galloway, this means kerbside waste collections will go ahead as usual.
