Haaf Net Fishing in Annan
We manage Haaf Net fishing in Annan. Fishing is not permitted from 6pm on Friday until 6am the following Monday.
IMPORTANT NOTE - whilst we may issue a Licence to fish, responsibility for adhering to all relevant Government guidance, social distancing and ensuring it is permissible for you to travel and participate in haaf net fishing lies solely with the applicant at no liability to our Council or the Common Good.
Please ensure you book your permits in advance as the process could take up to 48 hours to complete due to the large volume of work being processed.
YOU MUST NOT FISH IF YOU HAVE ANY SYMPTOMS OF COVID-19
- West - from the mouth of the River Annan to the Solway border with England
- East - from the Altar Stone to Battlehill
- Trout - 1 May until 6pm on Friday 9 September
- Salmon - 1 June until 6pm on Friday 9 September (catch and release only)
Throughout the season, no fishing shall take place from 6pm on Friday until 6am the following Monday.
Applications for 2022 are currently open with initial allocations being made on MONDAY 21 MARCH 2022, thereafter on a first come first served basis:

The Annan Common Good Fund Sub-Committee hold the rights to 47 Haaf Net Licences and are making 30 available for the 2022 season.
