There are a number of options available for householders which provide an effective means of dealing with waste.

    Household waste in wheeled bins and Council refuse sacks is collected weekly and processed for recovery.

    Household Waste Recycling Centres and Points are available at various locations across the region allowing householders to sort household waste items. In Dumfries and Galloway there are 11 Household Waste Recycling Centres and over 40 Recycling Points.

    You can pay to have larger items collected if they will not fit in your household bin. The Council's bulky uplift service allows householders to dispose of items such as sofas, tables, beds, garage doors, bicycles and mattresses.
