Notice of Poll - Balmaclellan Community Council
Polling will take place on Thursday 19 July 2018 for the election of Councillors for Balmaclellan Community Council, there being more validly nominated candidates than vacancies to be filled.
The number of vacancies to be filled, name and address of each candidate being validly nominated and the name and address of the witness who signed the nomination paper for each candidate are as detailed on the annexed Schedule. Self-nomination is not permitted.
The persons entitled to vote as electors at this election are the persons who have attained the age of 16 years* on the date of the Poll and whose names appear in the Register of Electors for the above named Community Council area.
*The Scottish Elections (Reduction in Voting Age) Bill introduced in Spring 2016 allows for 16 year olds to vote at Local Government and Scottish Parliament and they will therefore be included in the electoral register for those elections. Consequently, as Community Council elections are held on the Local Government franchise, this new ruling will now apply to all future Community Council elections.
Polling will take place between the hours of 3pm and 7pm on Thursday 19 July at Balmaclellan Village Hall.
There will be NO provision for postal or proxy voting.
After the close of Poll, counting of votes will take place at Balmaclellan Village Hall
