The Bridge Educational Trust

The Bridge is a facility we're building in Dumfries which will help develop people develop specialist skills and knowledge that they need for further education and work.

The Bridge, Dumfries was registered as a Charitable Trust on 10 January 2018.
The Bridge is now referred to as The Bridge Educational Trust, Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation (SCIO) SC048045.

The Bridge will also deliver learning opportunities for the whole community with the facilities open to individuals, community groups, clubs and local organisations.

The Bridge is located next to King George V Sports Complex on Glasgow Road as part of the Dumfries Learning Town Project. It is due to open in October.

Changes for pupils in Dumfries

Pupils from each school in the town can attend The Bridge during allocated slots for specialist subjects so there's less duplication of resources, consistency in teaching and more effective use of teaching time.

We'll co-ordinate school timetables to ensure there's a shared curriculum throughout Dumfries. This will allow us to build on existing strengths in the town and open up new opportunities by extending the choice of subjects available.

There will also be chances to attend outside the school day.
