Funding for shop front improvements

The Dumfries and Galloway Shop Front Improvement Initiative provides assistance to independent retail properties in small town centres and district centres across the region.

Available funding

Grants of up to £5,000 are available to contribute up to 50% of the costs of eligible repairs and improvements to shop fronts, the minimum amount you can apply for is £500.

Who can apply

Landlords or tenants of shop premises in priority areas occupied by independent traders or locally based managed charities, that are classed as small and medium enterprises can apply for funding.

How to apply

Email completed forms to pe.regeneration@dumgal.gov.uk and send a printed and signed declaration page to us by post.

What happens next

We will assess your application to determine if your project is eligible for funding and the level of grant we're able to offer you. We normally make an offer of assistance in writing to successful applicants within three weeks of receiving a completed application.

We may contact you to arrange a meeting to discuss your application and to assist you to prepare an application that meets our eligibility criteria.
