Disabled parking permits (Blue Badges)

You can park in certain restricted areas if driving or travelling as a passenger with a disabled parking permit. The permits are called Blue Badges.

Who can apply

Drivers or passengers with mobility issues may be eligible for a Blue Badge which is valid for between 12 months and 3 years. You'll need to reapply after this time.

Some people can get a Blue Badge automatically and others may need a further assessment. Organisations can apply for badges if they transport disabled people. Check if you meet the criteria for a Blue Badge:

The badge can't be used if the badge holder isn't travelling in the vehicle. You might get a parking fine and have the badge withdrawn if it is misused.
